Selecting a Home in Sedona

Sedona SunsetPeople come from aroung the world to live in the amazing community of Sedona, AZ.  Many families rearrange their lives to choose to be in a place with so much beauty and inspiration.  Come heck or high water, they figure out how to find work or to retire.  And we all need a place to live!

Single family dwellings in Sedona run the gamut from manufactured homes to multi-million dollar custom designs, something for everyone.  Here are some suggestions for choosing a home that fits you.  Number 2 is our favorite.

  1. Through a Sedona real estate professional:  The Sedona community is rich with option.  Realtors know the neighborhoods inside and out and can guide you to areas that fit your live style and budget.  They will help you negotiions with sellers to get the right price.  Realtors are a great source for referrals to all the thing you may need related to your home, like lenders, title companies, designers, remodelers, landscapers, movers and more.  So be sure to ask.  And be prepared to shop around to find people who you feel you can trust.
  2. Through a Sedona residential designer or Sedona architect:  Most people start with Realtors, but remember that a Sedona interior designer or building designer may see your needs through a different prisms...they have a very tight focus on sustainability, constructability, and good design and construction!  They will help you evaluate land if you plan to build, or evauate existing homes if you feel you may need to remodel.  You will have choices here as well.  Sedona has attracted great architects and residential building designer.  Both disciplines can serve you well.  Architects offer a broad scope of experience in both commercial and residential design.  Building designers on the other hand specialize in single family residences.  Most importantly, choose a professional who has the experience related to what you need, and who is a person who will listen to you.
  3. On line:  On-line sites like Zillow can give another perspective of the real estate market.  This is a good way to get oriented to Sedona as a whole before you engage a seasoned professional.  But there is no good substitute for designers and agents who offer a personal touch that can make the big difference.
